Offshore Team Update.

In 2022 Hall Browns began an international recruitment drive to supplement the shortage of accounting staff available locally.

At the time Simon Grant of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), in his capacity as Group Executive Advocacy and International Development, estimated that there were 9000 accounting vacancies across Australia.

As a result of our search, Hall Browns successfully engaged a team of professionals based in Southeast Asia, who now work for us.

This month we introduce you to those four new colleagues and share their professional biographies, as well as their areas of expertise.

We are sure that our clients will benefit from their expertise as we progress through 2023.

Our Team has expanded!

Hall Browns is delighted to introduce four new faces as part of a reinvigoration of our accounting team.

In order to enhance our services, in 2022 we initiated the recruitment of staff based overseas, given the shortage of suitable personnel here in Australia.

Six months ago, two successful candidates were identified and engaged in the Philippines. Our interaction with those offshore team members is managed with the assistance of a reputable Australian outsourcing company, to ensure that they work in a safe and secure environment.

The role of the offshore team is primarily in preparing and processing activity statements and income tax returns, and in the preparation of financial statements.

So let us introduce them to you….

LENNETH REFAZO KATRINA CONSUELO
Lenneth joined Hall Browns as an accountant in August 2022. She has been working in the accounting industry for more than five years, having studied for a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Lenneth is keen to expand her understanding of Australian taxation legislation and processes and is enjoying working with the team to support the needs of our clients. Katrina joined Hall Browns as an accountant in September 2022, and she more than seven years’ experience of working in treasury, inventory and accounts receivable roles in the retail industry. Katrina also has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and is looking forward to assisting clients to meet their tax and BAS obligations.

Given the success of those two appointments, Lenneth and Katrina were recently joined by team members Maricar and Miguel.

MARICAR DEL ROSARIO MIGUEL ALONZO
Maricar joined the Hall Browns team as an accountant in January 2023 after several years’ experience as an auditor and tax specialist. Maricar has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree and is keen to use skills gained from her studies at Hall Browns. She has a strong interest in Australian Taxation and enjoys being challenged in her role. Miguel commenced at Hall Browns in January 2023 and has been working in the accounting industry for over 4 years. After completing a Bachelor of Science in Accounting Technology in 2018 Miguel has worked in a variety of roles from which he has built a strong base knowledge of accounting and finance. He enjoys working closely with others and is looking forward to building healthy relationship with his peers.

We look forward to capitalising on the experience and knowledge of all four Hall Browns offshore colleagues to service our clients’ needs.
